On May 14, 2020, Kenya's COVID-19 death toll reached 36 after three more patients lost their lives to the disease.
According to Dr. Rashid Aman, the Health Ministry's Chief Administrative Secretary, the three fatalities were recorded in Mombasa, where two patients died at home, and the third died in hospital.
Kenya has so far registered 715 positive cases, with 15 new infections reported on Tuesday, identified from 978 samples tested since Monday.
Out of the 15 new cases, 10 are males and five are females, with ages ranging from one year and eight months to 62 years.
The cases were confirmed in various counties, including Mombasa, Migori, Wajir, Nairobi, Machakos, and Kiambu.
Dr. Aman commended healthcare workers for their efforts in preventing the spread of the virus, saying, "We continue to appreciate and thank our health care workers for this great work they are performing."
Additionally, eight more patients have been discharged from hospital, bringing the tally of recoveries in the country to 259.
