Brookhouse Schools have been given the green light to resume online classes for kindergarten to Year Four pupils, following a High Court ruling on Wednesday.

The ruling, issued by Judge Weldon Korir, comes after a group of parents protested against the virtual classes, citing high costs and concerns over the quality of the classes.

However, the judge's decision is seen as a reprieve for children whose parents wanted them to continue learning despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the court order, virtual classes are to resume for all kindergarten to Year Four pupils who wish to take part, pending a court hearing on June 8.

The Attorney General and the Cabinet Secretary for Education have been given 14 days to file their responses in the case.

Brookhouse Schools had initially stopped online classes following a court order on April 30, but the latest ruling has allowed them to resume.

Parents who are dissatisfied with the online classes have been given the opportunity to present their views in court, with a hearing scheduled for June 8.
