As the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect New York City, a group of ice cream truck owners have found a way to bring happiness to children and families. With their colorful trucks and familiar tunes, they are providing a much-needed service in these uncertain times.

According to FunTime Frostee truck owner, who has been serving the community for 26 years, 'I have an obligation to take my trucks to the street. I believe the ice cream trucks are an essential service.' He explained that his customers wait for him, and they choose to come to his truck because of the service he provides.

With the pandemic, ice cream trucks have had to adapt to new social distancing guidelines. 'It's harder for us to social distance six feet to give you an ice cream cone,' the owner said. However, he takes precautions to ensure the safety of his customers and employees, including disinfecting the truck and wearing masks.

Despite the challenges, the ice cream trucks have become a beacon of hope for many families. 'When I hear the ice cream truck, I just come running,' said one customer. 'It's better than hearing the sirens of the fire truck and ambulance,' added another.

The owner of FunTime Frostee truck believes that his service is essential, especially during difficult times. 'We are providing a service, making you and your family happy during the pandemic, without a pandemic, rain, sleet or snow,' he said.

As the pandemic continues, the ice cream trucks will remain a vital part of the community, bringing joy and happiness to those who need it most.
