On May 13, 2020, the Jubilee Party took a decisive step against nominated senators who had snubbed President Uhuru Kenyatta's meeting, expelling them from the party.

According to a statement issued by Secretary-General Raphael Tuju, the party had taken action against the rebels in parliament, including recalling them. The expelled senators include Falhada Dekow Iman, Naomi Jillo Waqo, Victor Prengei, Mary Seneta Yiane, and Millicent Omanga.

The decision was made after the senators, who are largely allied to Deputy President William Ruto, had bragged about statehouse lying and their move to dethrone Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Senate Deputy Majority Leader Susan Kihika was illegal.

The war between the statehouse and the rebels is expected to continue, with many court filings in expectations of reversal. David Murathe and Tuju, the party officials, have been a punching bag for the rebels, but now they have the last laugh.
