COVID-19 Death Toll in Kenya Reaches 40

Kenya has recorded a total of 40 COVID-19 related deaths, with the latest three fatalities occurring in Nairobi and one in Mombasa since Tuesday, May 12.

According to Dr. Rashid Aman, Chief Administrative Secretary at the Ministry of Health, the situation is getting worse, and Kenyans need to take the containment measures seriously.

"So the total number of people who have died from COVID-19 in Kenya is now 40," Dr. Aman said.

He emphasized the importance of adhering to the measures provided by the Ministry of Health, including wearing masks, practicing social distancing, washing hands with soap and water, and staying at home.

Kenya has also reported 737 COVID-19 cases, with 22 new cases reported on Wednesday, May 13. The recovery cases have also increased to 281, with 22 patients discharged from hospital.

Globally, the virus has killed over 292,000 people, with the number of those infected surpassing the 4 million mark.
