Kenya's Covid-19 cases have surged to 737 following the confirmation of 22 new cases, announced by the Health ministry on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.

According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rashid Aman, 22 more patients have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the total recoveries to 281.

Regrettably, the health ministry recorded four more coronavirus deaths, increasing the tally to 40.

Dr Aman emphasized the need for continued measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, including the deployment of two mobile laboratories at major border points to aid in the fight against Covid-19.

Kenya's testing capacity has been enhanced, and the government has developed a resource plan for testing, although a global shortage of reagents remains a challenge. The country expects to receive some consignments by July.
