It's been five years since the untimely death of Dru, the wife of Mombasa-based actor Dan Sonko, alias Dan Sonko. Born Druscillah Walowe Mngoda, Dru died on 23 May 2017, just 10 days after celebrating her birthday with her family.
On the occasion of her birthday, Dan Sonko has chosen to honor his late wife's memory by giving back to society, something he says Dru loved doing.
According to Dan, his birthday gift to Dru is a tribute to her selfless nature, which inspired him to continue her good work.
Speaking to NTV in March, Dan Sonko made it clear that his current relationship with Winfred Bwire, a friend of Dru's, is not a replacement for his late wife.
"It is a relationship that ended. I still have memories of my first wife and sometimes wish she were here to see her kids grow, but I have faith because she did not choose the day to die," Dan said.
