Four Suspected Thugs Gunned Down in Nairobi Shootout

On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, a dramatic shootout unfolded in Nairobi's Komarock area, leaving four suspected robbers dead.

According to reports, the incident occurred at the Total petrol station along Kangundo Road, where the suspects had driven through before opening fire on the police.

Confirming the incident, Buruburu OCPD Adamson Bungei stated that officers had pursued the assailants, who had refused to surrender, and had instead opened fire on the police.

"Our officers pursued the suspects and ordered the assailants to surrender, but instead, they opened fire on police who responded by gunning them down," Bungei said. "We have started investigations into the incident," he added.

During the ensuing shootout, four of the suspects were gunned down, and 2 pistols and 14 rounds of ammunition were recovered.

A police officer was also injured during the shootout and is receiving treatment at the Mama Lucy Hospital.
