On May 13, 2020, seasoned Kenyan radio presenter Maina Kageni became the proud owner of a brand new 2020 BMW X6, the first of its kind in East and Central Africa.

According to reports, Maina received his new ride early in the week, posing next to a podium with the words: UNIT SOLD, to confirm to the world that the multi-million machine was his and nobody else's.

During his Breakfast show with co-host Mwalimu King'ang'i, Maina was welcomed back on board after staying away for a while following health issues. Churchill, his co-presenter, was quick to acknowledge the fact that Maina did not return empty-handed, rather, quite loaded.

Churchill's sentiments were echoed by Daniel Ndambuki, who said, 'You deserve it unafanyanga bidii.'

For Maina, it was time to enjoy the fruits of his labor and unapologetically so. He shared his thoughts on life and luxury, saying, 'Life is short and you should enjoy your life whichever way you find, those kind of cars are my devil. Aki I have worked hard, my God, you gotta enjoy your life. If you can afford something get it. Life is not a rehearsal.'

With a 3.0-litre Turbo Inline-6 engine, a fuel tank capacity of 85 litres, and fuel economy of 8.5km per liter, Maina's BMW X6 is a beast on the road. It boasts 335hp and 450Nm, making it the only rear-wheel-drive variant presently, holding a capacity of 5 passengers inclusive of the driver.

The ride might have cost Maina a whooping $64,300, which translates into at least KSh 6,854,380 (6.85 million).

Here are exclusive photos of the ride, captured by Kenyan Digest.
