Germany's Bundesliga national soccer leagues are set to resume on May 16, 2020, after a prolonged hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This development comes as a welcome relief to sports gaming firm Betika, which has been adversely affected by the postponements of popular European leagues.
According to Kate Arudo, Public Relations Manager at Betika, the firm's business has been impacted like many other businesses worldwide. 'We do hope that as the games slowly start next week we will soon offer more options to our loyal punters,' she said.
The German football league has confirmed that the Bundesliga will resume on May 16, with strict conditions in place, including the absence of fans at the Veltins-Arena, which has a capacity of 62,271 spectators.
Notably, the Bundesliga is the first of Europe's 'Big Five' leagues to resume operations, ahead of the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and Ligue 1.
