On 13 May 2020, four suspects, including a 14-year-old boy, were remanded in police custody for seven days as investigations into the murder of Pamoja FM radio presenter Mohammed Hassan Marjan continued.
Marjan, a 62-year-old journalist, was killed on the way home from work last week.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, detectives narrowed down on the juvenile after reviewing CCTV footage retrieved from the control centre at Jogoo house.
“Following the appalling murder of Mohammed Hassan of Pamoja FM Radio, DCI detectives today arrested a 14-year-old juvenile positively identified after an analysis of IC3 CCTV footage,” DCI said.
Marjan was an active member of the Kibra community policing committee, but police are yet to establish the motive of the crime.
Shortly after Marjan was murdered, Kibra residents lynched one of the suspects behind the murder.
