On May 12, 2020, the Kenyan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Manoah Esipisu, announced a second flight to take stranded Kenyans back home.

According to Esipisu, the Kenya Airways flight will depart from London Heathrow Airport to JKIA Nairobi on Friday, May 15, 2020, following a special commercial flight on May 4, 2020.

The flight was arranged through discussions between the governments of Kenya and the United Kingdom.

Passengers are required to undertake COVID-19 tests from any accredited laboratory and certification issued at least seven days before travel.

Upon arrival, they will be quarantined at their own cost.

Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Ambassador Macharia Kamau said the government has facilitated the return of 700 Kenyans and will continue to do so.

"So far we have facilitated 700 Kenyans. We expect more to trickle in over the next weeks as we find means and ways of facilitating their return," said Ambassador Kamau.
