Kenya's COVID-19 cases have risen to 715, with 15 new infections reported, including a Rwandese national. The new cases were identified from 978 samples tested since Monday.
According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman, Mombasa County produced seven of the new cases, while Migori, Wajir, Nairobi, Machakos, and Kiambu reported one case each.
Three of the new fatality cases were also reported in Mombasa County, with two individuals dying at home and one succumbing in the hospital.
Kenya has so far registered 36 COVID-19 deaths, with scientists racing against time to find a cure for the disease that has left 286,000 dead and over 4 million others infected worldwide.
On behalf of the Ministry, Aman extended his condolences to the families and friends of the bereaved.
Eight more patients have been discharged from hospital, bringing the tally of recoveries in the country to 259. Health care workers have been lauded for their efforts in preventing the spread of the virus.
