May 12, 2020 - The ouster of Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen as Senate Majority Leader has sparked a heated exchange between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Murkomen, a vocal critic of the President, has accused Uhuru of exhibiting the highest level of negligence and being oblivious of the constitutional rights enshrined in the Bill of Rights.

According to Murkomen, the President's decision to axe him and his deputy, Susan Kihika, was a hoax and a desperate attempt to punish Deputy President William Ruto.

“Why are we letting the President engage in deceitful politics of forgery and adding up numbers which is embarrassing, he should be stopped,” Murkomen remarked after his ouster.

Murkomen warned Uhuru to be careful with his moves, assuring his supporters that they will not take the issue softly since it touches on the very foundations of the Jubilee party.

He also cautioned the President to beware that too much pride would soon hit his own ambition in the manner he would not understand.

As the Senate Majority Leader, Murkomen pointed out that Uhuru has only proven that he is both weak and clueless as far as managing politics within the party is concerned.

He criticized the President for a high level of insensitivity for choosing to politic at a time when the nation was hit by various phenomena including the Coronavirus, hunger, and flood.
