On Monday, the Jubilee Party made significant changes to the Senate leadership, aiming to enhance the delivery of services. Kieni MP Kanini Kega has expressed his support for these changes, stating that they will bring harmony and articulate the government's agenda in the Senate.

During an inspection tour of the Nairobi-Sagana-Nyanyuki railway rehabilitation, Kega praised the new leadership, saying, 'it is better that you do a review of the performance and personally I am excited with the changes that have happened in the Senate.'

The changes saw former Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen replaced by Senator Samuel Pogisio, and Chief Whip Susan Kihika replaced by Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata. Kega described Pogisio as an articulate and amiable person capable of leading the Senate majority.

He also accused the previous Senate leadership of disrespect and working acrimoniously, frustrating the government's agenda to deliver on its pledges to the public. Kega emphasized the need for the party to crack down on members who contradict the party position, suggesting the reactivation of the party's disciplinary committee.
