Published on May 12, 2020, Gor Mahia, the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions, are facing financial difficulties and have called on their fans to register as members to help the club stay afloat.

Club deputy secretary general Ronald Ngala has asked existing members to renew their membership and new fans to register, with the club facing a significant financial crisis since the exit of their shirt sponsors SportPesa last August.

The registration fee is Sh1, 200, payable through MPESA pay bill number 350100, and Ngala has urged fans to register in numbers to provide the club with an immense income that can assist in paying players during these tough times.

“Notice is hereby given of registration of new members and renewal of existing members of the club with immediate effect,” the club said in a statement.

“When making payment, please use your name as the account number to enable the club to identify you when compiling the register of members,” the statement added.

Ngala emphasized that the club has no money and that the registration process is crucial in helping the club grow and attract sponsors, not just during financial difficulties but also during periods of stability.
