Dividing household responsibilities can be a significant challenge for many couples. For one Australian woman, the solution to this problem was a clever trick that involved sending her husband fake texts from the 'landlord'.

According to a post shared on a Facebook cleaning group, the woman, known as Rebecca, had been using this tactic for the past three years to get her husband to help with household chores.

Rebecca, a mum-of-four, explained that she had been struggling to get her husband to help with tasks such as cutting the grass and moving furniture. She said that she would send him fake texts from the 'landlord' to prompt him into action.

She revealed that she had saved the number of a cheap mobile phone under 'Landlord' and would text herself to create the illusion that the landlord was coming to inspect the property. This would prompt her husband to take action and complete the task.

Rebecca claimed that her sneaky trick worked like a charm every time, and she had even used it to get her husband to help with tasks such as cleaning his tools and garage.

People on Facebook were quick to praise Rebecca's clever idea, with many calling it 'genius'. One user even shared a similar trick she had used in the past, where she told her husband that they had monthly house inspections to get him to clean the house.
