On Monday, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman announced the launch of a WhatsApp Bot facility to disseminate information on Covid-19, as part of the government's efforts to combat the disease.
According to Aman, the bot will provide essential information to Kenyans seeking to educate themselves on the Covid-19 disease, saving time by answering questions in real-time without requiring prior data access.
However, Aman cautioned against the use of unverified herbs for prevention or cure of Covid-19, stating that such concoctions have not been empirically verified or approved by relevant authorities, and can be detrimental to one's health.
On the same day, Aman announced 28 new positive cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 700. The total number of recoveries stands at 251, with 12 more patients discharged from hospital. One more person succumbed to the disease in Nairobi, increasing the country's total fatalities from the virus to 23.
The new cases were reported from various counties, including Mombasa (10 cases), Kajiado (9 cases), Nairobi (7 cases), and Wajir (2 cases). The 9 cases from Kajiado were all Kenyan truck drivers who tested positive at the Namanga border while returning from Tanzania.
