On May 11, 2020, Kenya's COVID-19 cases reached a milestone of 700, with 28 new cases confirmed within 24 hours.

Of the 28 new cases, nine were recorded in Kajiado County, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the county to seventeen.

According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman, all nine cases in Kajiado were from Kenyan truck drivers returning from Tanzania, highlighting concerns over increased infections at border counties.
