As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread globally, Pornhub has announced that its premium content will be available for free worldwide. This move is part of the company's efforts to help people stay home and reduce the spread of the virus.
According to Pornhub's Vice President, Corey Price, the decision to make premium content free was made to provide people with an enjoyable way to pass the time while in lockdown. With nearly one billion people worldwide under lockdown, Pornhub hopes that its free premium content will be an incentive for people to stay home and flatten the curve.
The company has created a 'StayHomeHub' page where users can access the free premium content. To avail of the service, users must agree to self-isolate and enjoy the premium videos for free. Alternatively, users can choose to promise to regularly wash their hands and maintain social distance if they cannot self-isolate.
Earlier this year, Pornhub made its premium content free for users in Italy, Spain, and France as cases of COVID-19 mounted in these countries. The move was met with a wave of memes as users in other parts of the world joked about using VPNs to access the free offer by routing their internet traffic through Italian servers.
Pornhub joins a growing number of online services that have made their content free or easier to access in a bid to keep people indoors and reduce the spread of COVID-19.
