On Mother's Day, singer Bahati took to social media to celebrate the life of his late mother, Lucia Mueni, who passed away when he was just 7 years old.
Sharing a rare photo of his mother, taken over 35 years ago, Bahati expressed his wish to have spent just one day with her to make her proud.
He revealed that his stepmother, who was supposed to play a motherly role in his life, accused him of being involved in a cult and even interfered with his relationship with his younger brother, Benjamin.
Bahati's mother died when he was still young, and he was forced to grow up with his stepmother. However, he has managed to live a life that he believes his mother would be proud of, almost 21 years later.
He captioned the photo: 'THE ONLY PICTURE I HAVE EVER FOUND OF MY LATE MUM LUCIA MUENI. Taken more than 35 Years ago. At times Looking at it I always Wish I would be granted Just a Day to treat her. Just a Day to Make her Proud.'
He also shared a heartfelt message, saying: 'She Died When I was 7 Years Old even before I knew the bitterness of this World. Every Day I work Hard to Make her Proud and May the Lord Rest her Soul in Eternal Peace. R.I.P Mama 🙏🙏🙏 HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MAMA BAHATI 😭😭😭'
