On May 10, 2020, a tense standoff occurred on the main road from Nakuru to Kericho after residents blocked the road in protest of a detained youth.
According to eyewitnesses, the residents were demanding the release of the youth, who had been detained by the police.
Police responded by using tear gas to disperse the crowd, leading to a chaotic scene.
The incident was captured on video and shared on social media.
