Former Gor Mahia coach Bobby Williamson has decided not to pursue the Sh1 million debt that the club owes him, citing the club's financial struggles.

However, Williamson is still determined to collect the Sh55 million award he was granted by the Employment and Labour Courts in 2019 for unlawful dismissal by Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

Williamson, who managed Harambee Stars between 2014 and 2016, helped Gor Mahia win their first league title in 18 years during his stint as coach between 2013 and 2014.

"I love Gor Mahia so much but from what I see on the papers, the club has bigger financial problems. The chairman (Ambrose Rachier) is a good man who always tried to pay me on time. I respect him and will not pursue that cash," Williamson said in an interview with Nairobi News on May 10, 2020.

Williamson is also seeking payment from FKF, which he believes has the funds to settle his award. He has ruled out seeking justice at international courts, preferring to rely on the local courts to resolve the matter.
