On Mother's Day, Kate Actress posed a thought-provoking question: 'Moms if you had a day off tomorrow, would your family manage?' The response from Kenyan mothers was overwhelmingly negative, highlighting the challenges of balancing family life and personal time.
Many women shared their experiences of leaving their husbands in charge for a short period, only to receive a flurry of calls and messages, making it impossible for them to enjoy some peace and quiet.
Carolinah Mutugi, for instance, left her two-month-old baby with her husband for just five minutes to pick something downstairs, but received 10 missed calls by the time she returned.
Others, like Cate Nimo Ruchu, joked that their husbands would manage, but only if they were constantly on call to confirm every detail, from the baby's sugar levels to diaper changes.
Some women, like Srahb, have even resorted to drastic measures, such as shaving their hair immediately after giving birth, to cope with the constant demands of family life.
As one mother put it, 'They would kinda manage, but definitely the food timings would be wrong and they would not have time to do everything because husbae can't multi-task.'
