Published on May 10, 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to Kenya, with the government establishing the Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund to support the country's efforts in combating the virus.

Chairperson of the fund, Jane Karuku, has stated that the donations are to be utilized to support the Government's efforts in the supply of medical facilities and equipment and provide support for vulnerable communities.

However, rumors have been circulating that the resources could be finding their way into private pockets or wasted on non-essential expenditure, drawing the ire of Kenyans.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his leadership team have given confident assurances that the resources are being well managed, and every coin will eventually be accounted for.

But, as the prophet Elisha's story illustrates, greed and corruption can have severe consequences, and those who engage in such practices may face God's wrath.

As the country continues to navigate the challenges posed by the pandemic, it is essential that the management of the Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund is transparent and accountable, with every coin being used for its intended purpose.
