On May 9, 2020, Kenya confirmed 28 more positive cases of coronavirus, raising the national tally to 649, with two more COVID-19 deaths reported.
The new cases were reported after the government tested 1,611 samples in the last 24 hours, with 24 of the new patients being Kenyans and 4 being foreigners from Tanzania.
According to the Ministry of Health, the new cases were distributed as follows: 10 in Mombasa, 9 in Nairobi, 4 in Migori, 2 in Kajiado, and 1 each in Homa Bay, Kiambu, and Machakos.
Health Ministry Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman said during a press conference that the new cases were reported after the government tested 1,611 samples in the last 24 hours.
Unfortunately, one patient succumbed to the deadly virus, bringing the total number of deaths to 30, while five more COVID-19 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 207.
