Kenya's coronavirus tally continued to rise on Saturday, with 28 new positive test results announced, bringing the total number of cases to 649.
According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rashid Aman, 24 of the new patients were Kenyans, while the rest were foreigners from Tanzania.
As the number of cases continues to rise, the ministry warned the public against a return to normalcy, emphasizing that Kenya has not yet won the battle against the deadly disease.
Dr. Aman expressed concern over the increasing human and vehicle traffic in areas such as the Nairobi central business district, and urged the public to continue observing social distancing and high standards of hygiene.
"These facilities face the risk of closure if they fail to abide by the government's guidelines," Dr. Aman said, noting the need for continued vigilance in containing the spread of the virus.
