Kenyan international David Owino, who has played for Zambia's Zesco United for five years, has revealed plans to venture into coaching after retiring from football.
At 32, Owino still feels he has the energy and zeal to continue playing, but he has made up his mind to pursue coaching in the future.
“I have been lucky enough to travel and learn a lot about football in the past five years and I have made up my mind, I want to pursue coaching after I retire,” Owino said in an interview.
Before joining Zesco United in 2015, Owino had agreed to join AFC Leopards in 2012, but he eventually signed with Gor Mahia after the two clubs failed to agree on terms.
“Gor Mahia were quick to finish the process and coincidentally my first game was against AFC Leopards in Nairobi a week later and I did well after coming in after the breather,” Owino recalled.
