On May 9, 2020, the Murang'a branch of the Lottery Club handed over water tanks and hospital equipment to the Murang'a county government to aid in the fight against the spread of coronavirus.

According to Beatrice Wanjohi, the club's president, the donated equipment includes two machines, a C-PAP and a Pulse Oximeter, which will be used to support the treatment of infants experiencing respiratory complications at the Murang'a level-5 hospital.

Wanjohi noted that the water tanks will be distributed to various parts of the county to help residents wash their hands as a measure to combat the spread of Covid-19.

Speaking on behalf of the county government, Joseph Mbai, the executive member in charge of Health and Sanitation, expressed gratitude to the Lottery Club for their donation.

Mbai stated that the donated equipment will be used to support the treatment of children born with respiratory complications and that the water tanks will be installed at trading centres to provide locals with access to clean water for handwashing.
