On April 30, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa announced the premature conclusion of the Kenyan Premier League, declaring reigning champions Gor Mahia winners of the current season. However, the league body, Kenya Premier League Limited, has yet to make a final decision on the matter.
According to Polack, the club is waiting for the league body's decision, which is legally mandated to run the 18-team competition. The Kenya Premier League Limited's five-year tenure ends on September 24, when Football Kenya Federation is expected to take over.
Polack has expressed his desire to win the league title on the pitch rather than through boardroom declarations. He has instructed his players to continue with their individual training schedule, citing the ongoing controversies surrounding the league's premature conclusion.
"I have instructed my players to continue with the individual training schedule I gave them because to me, the league is not yet over. Even though people are telling me to be happy for bagging my first league title, I can't with all these controversies,” he said.
Polack also commented on the letter sent by the Kenya Premier League Limited to the Confederation of African Football (Caf), stating that he does not want to be part of FKF and KPL politics.
