Kenya Power Company faced a nationwide power outage on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at 5:49 am, due to a system disturbance on the transmission network.
According to the utility firm, engineers were working to identify the cause of the hitch and restore power supply to the national grid.
At the time of the outage, the energy ministry had announced an upsurge in water levels in key hydroelectricity dams due to heavy rains and flooding in parts of the country.
