On May 8, 2020, the Ministry of Health acknowledged the fatigue many Kenyans were experiencing due to the COVID-19 directives.
Chief Administrative Health Rashid Aman emphasized that the measures were put in place to help the society recover from the disease.
"We understand the fatigue, but these are unusual times and we have to make great sacrifices to be able to live through this time," Aman said during a daily briefing.
He warned that breaking the rules would lead to more infections, saying, "We should not allow that fatigue to make us break the restrictions and rules that have been put in place because we will be turning the wheel backwards."
Despite some residents sneaking in and out of Eastleigh, a restricted area due to high infection rates, Aman urged Kenyans to adhere to the directives.
Kenya had reported 621 positive cases of coronavirus after 922 samples were analyzed in the last 24 hours.
