Former Gor Mahia captain Musa Mohammed is set to leave Zambian side Nkana FC at the end of June, with Tanzanian giants Yanga SC reportedly interested in his services.

According to Mohammed, initial talks have taken place between his agent and Yanga SC, although progress has been slow due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We had started talks over an extension with Nkana but we had not finalized an agreement with them. I had tabled my end of the deal and was waiting for them to finalize on it," Mohammed said.

He added that Yanga SC had also started talks with his agent, but the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic has made it difficult to proceed.

"But we are also on the look-out for any potential suitors and keeping the options open. It is a hard time definitely but I am optimistic things will be better," Mohammed stated.

Mohammed has been a key player for Nkana since joining in 2018, and has risen to become the club's captain. He has also been joined by his former defensive partner at Gor Mahia, Harun Shakava.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Mohammed remains optimistic about his future and is looking forward to seeing what opportunities arise.
