As the world grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses have been forced to close their doors. But for the Dancing Pallbearers, a group of pallbearers from Ghana, the pandemic has brought their business to a standstill.

According to Benjamin Aidoo, the group leader, business has been severely affected by the pandemic. In an interview with the BBC, Aidoo expressed his hope that a solution will be found soon so that his group can resume their work.

'This Coronavirus pandemic has affected my business badly, it has come to a stand still. We don’t do business now and I feel bad. But I know after the pandemic we are going to go around the world to teach people what we do and they will know how we show respect to the dead.'

Published on May 8, 2020, the Dancing Pallbearers first made headlines after memes showing their hilarious dance moves at funerals went viral. The group, which is under Kenyan management, has since become popular not just in Africa but the entire world.

However, with the pandemic forcing people to stay indoors, the Dancing Pallbearers have been forced to close their business until further notice. As Aidoo said, 'We might just have to wait and see how things turn in the near future.'
