On May 7, 2020, Holland manager Ronald Koeman underwent a heart procedure in Amsterdam after experiencing chest pains.

At 57 years old, Koeman has had a storied career, managing Southampton and Everton in the Premier League before taking over his country nearly two years ago.

After being taken to hospital on Sunday evening, Koeman underwent cardiac catheterisation and was released the following day.

Reflecting on the experience, Koeman expressed his gratitude to the doctors at AMC and the outpouring of support from friends, family, and strangers alike.

"That was a bit of a scare, last weekend," Koeman tweeted. "For myself, of course, but especially for my family, and for my friends."

He continued, "Fortunately, the AMC doctors were quick to help me and acted wonderfully, for which I am very grateful. Such an event really helps bring you down to earth."

Despite the scare, Koeman is now feeling "fit as a fiddle" and is eager to return to his duties as Holland manager.
