Founded in July 2019 in Kampala, Uganda, Logistify AI aims to expand to Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda soon to help warehouse owners earn extra income from their vacant space.
Logistify AI's mission is to solve the warehousing crisis faced by many businesses in Africa, particularly in rural areas where storage facilities are scarce.
According to Daniel Emaasit, one of the founders, 'We grew up helping our parents manage our family warehouse and farm in rural Uganda. For many years our parents have struggled to maintain constant income from the warehouse. Demand for storage is seasonal and the warehouse is underutilized.'
The startup is helping suppliers of essential items, such as food, soap, and sanitizer, to find flexible warehousing for their high-demand inventory during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Logistify AI's platform allows suppliers to book storage space on a pay-as-you-go basis, avoiding unnecessary fixed and long-term leases. The platform also provides easy invoicing and transparency, making it easier for suppliers to manage their storage needs.
Some of Logistify AI's customers include Aqua Fish, SonFish, Rafiki Property Services, Equator Catering, East African Investments, Sarjan Property Agencies, BAT Jinja warehouses, and Creston Business Park, among others.
Logistify AI's competitive advantage lies in its flexible storage period, which allows suppliers to book storage space for a day, two days, a month, several months, or a year. The platform also aggregates several last-mile delivery startups to provide transportation from the warehouse to the final customer.
According to the brothers, their customers keep coming back due to the platform's flexibility, low prices, and easy invoicing and transparency.
