On May 7, 2020, the Ministry of Health in Kenya announced a significant increase in COVID-19-related deaths, with three more people succumbing to the virus over a 24-hour period.
Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman revealed that the three individuals died while undergoing treatment in different facilities, with two from Nairobi and one from Mombasa.
As the number of new cases continues to rise, with 607 reported cases after 25 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, Aman urged Kenyans to adhere to the laid-down guidelines to flatten the infection curve and prevent further virus-linked deaths.
Eastleigh in Nairobi, which is currently under lockdown, produced the highest number of new cases at nine, with the remaining cases spread across Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Wajir, and Isiolo counties.
