May 7, 2020, marked a significant day for Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina, as he found himself at odds with the ODM Party, which had de-whipped him from the powerful Senate Public Accounts Committee.
As the Chair of the committee, Ledama had been instrumental in ensuring Governors were accountable for the funds they received. However, his removal came just hours after he had chaired the committee's second meeting.
Senator Ledama took to Twitter to express his discontent, stating, 'Today I chaired my second meeting as the duly elected Chair of the Senate Public Accounts Investment Committee. The letter by @orengo_james has got no basis and must be treated with contempt! Because this committee is very powerful they want a pushover, not Me.'
His removal from the committee has led to speculation about his next move. In a tweet, Ledama hinted that he may oppose the Building Bridges Initiative, saying, 'I understand BBI is coming end of this month right? Leteni!'
With his stance on BBI now in question, Kenyans are eagerly awaiting Ledama's next move. Will he join the Tanga Tanga faction, or will he continue to support the ODM Party?
