On May 6, 2020, a 71-year-old man collapsed and died outside the Co-operative Bank of Kenya on Nkrumah Road in Mombasa's Central Business District.
Mombasa Sub-County police commander Eliud Arumba confirmed the incident, stating that the man had alerted security officers to a problem with his breathing before collapsing.
Arumba said that bank officials had alerted the police, who then contacted medical personnel to take the body to the Coast Provincial General Hospital mortuary for further examination.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the man's death, which is the second sudden death in two days in the area.
