Italy's eight-week lockdown, the longest in Europe, has finally come to an end, and Serie A clubs have begun to return to training. However, the planned restart of the season has hit a snag with the news that a Torino player has tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to the club, the player, who is currently asymptomatic, was immediately placed in quarantine and will be constantly monitored. The club did not give any further details about the player's identity or the circumstances surrounding the positive test.

While Serie A has said that all 20 of its clubs want to restart the season, Torino appear to have been among the less enthusiastic. The club's president, Urbano Cairo, said last week that Italy should already be thinking about next season.

As the situation continues to unfold, fans and players alike will be watching with bated breath to see if the season can indeed be restarted. The Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, the home of Torino FC, has been a hub of activity in recent weeks, with the club's players and staff working tirelessly to prepare for the season's resumption.
