On May 6, 2020, a brazen case of impersonation was uncovered in Changamwe, Mombasa, where four individuals were arrested for posing as police officers.

According to Changamwe police boss Ali Ndiema, the suspects were dressed in full police attire and armed with pistols, which they used to terrorize residents.

The suspects would allegedly stop people outside past 7pm and without masks, forcing them into a vehicle where they would steal their valuables before releasing them.

Police in Changamwe have taken the four suspects into custody and are still searching for the pistol and police uniform they used in the crime.
