Published on May 6, 2020, a report by Weekly Citizen highlighted the dire situation at Precious Kids Children's Home in Wamuini, Kiminini subcounty, Trans Nzoia county.

The home, which caters to 117 disabled children, is facing a severe funding crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Donors from America, who previously supported the institution, have been affected by the global health crisis.

According to the home's director, Samantha Hammock, funding for the last two months had dwindled, leaving the children in dire need of medical care. Some of the children suffer from mental illnesses, making it even more challenging for the home to provide adequate care.
