On May 6, 2020, Akothee, a renowned Kenyan singer and single mother of five, made headlines for her kind gesture of adopting a street kid named Shadrack Mwita from Migori.

Shadrack, 18, had lost his mother in a road accident that also resulted in the loss of his right leg.

Akothee, who is known for her philanthropic efforts, was moved by Shadrack's plight and decided to take him in.

Sharing a photo of Shadrack, Akothee captioned, 'I'm a bit emotional, then I took him, we went home, for he has no home, he lives on the streets. Someone tell @he.babuowino that the wheelchair got purpose, thank you mheshimiwa.'

Akothee further narrated that Shadrack has no family or siblings and that he is a jovial soul who dances to any music that drops.

She added that Shadrack is very healthy, as per the X-rays and ultrasounds, and that they are waiting for the blood tests to come out on Thursday to know what to deal with.

Akothee also expressed her gratitude to everyone who has come on board to support Shadrack, urging those who wish to walk Shadrack's journey to paybill 205024 to Akothee Foundation account.
