On May 2, 2020, Tecra Muigai, the heiress to the Keroche brewery fortune, tragically passed away after suffering a head injury in April.
According to reports, Tecra was visiting her 54-year-old boyfriend, Omar Lali, in Lamu's Shella village when the incident occurred.
She was airlifted to Nairobi and admitted to a high-end hospital, where she remained in a coma until her untimely death.
Following an investigation, Omar Lali was arrested on May 3, 2020, and is currently in police custody.
On May 4, 2020, he appeared in court before Principal Magistrate Allan Temba, who granted police a 21-day extension to detain him as they unravel the events surrounding Tecra's death.
