Diamond Platnumz Helps Needy Families in Tanzania ¶
Published on May 6, 2020, Diamond Platnumz has embarked on a mission to cushion the lives of less fortunate families in Tanzania that are unable to make ends meet due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The singer's mother, Sandra Kasim, announced the exciting news on her social media page, stating that the main beneficiaries of the charity were mostly the crippled, widows, and those who could not provide for their families completely.
According to Sandra Kasim, the process of selecting the beneficiaries is ongoing, with the aim of helping those who are most in need.
"Bado utaratibu unaendelea ili kukamilisha zoezi hilo. Ifahamike ya kwamba wahusika wakuu ni walemavu, wajane na wasiojiweza kabisa," she wrote.
As part of his efforts to help those affected by the pandemic, Diamond Platnumz has also offered to give out his newly-acquired hotel to the government to be used as a quarantine centre.
"Nimenunua Hotel maeneo ya mikocheni, nimeshakabidhiwa documents zangu, ipo kwenye marekebisho kadhaa kisha nitaitambulisha. Hotel ile ambayo nimeinunua niko radhi niitoe kwa serekali kwa muda huu ili iweze kutumika kama quarantine," he said.
Earlier, Diamond Platnumz had announced his willingness to give out his hotel to the government to be used as a quarantine centre.
"I have decided to at least offer a helping hand by paying three months' house rent to 500 families as my kind gesture of helping one another during these terrible... On Monday I shall announce the procedure on how these 500 families shall receive house rent," the Baba Lao crooner announced about a week ago.
