Heavy rains have brought devastation to various parts of the country, claiming 194 lives since the onset of the floods.
According to the government, those at risk in Garissa and Tana River Counties may be forcibly moved to safer grounds, as announced by Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i.
The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned that the situation is unlikely to subside soon, with more heavy rains expected this weekend, particularly in the Central, Rift Valley, Western, and Coast regions.
Residents in flood-prone areas have been urged to move to safer grounds, with the worrying levels reached in Masinga and Turkwel dams threatening to overflow.
