On May 5, 2020, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp addressed rumors surrounding the team's potential interest in top young stars Jadon Sancho, Timo Werner, and Kylian Mbappe.
According to reports from the end of April, Klopp had been in talks with Mbappe's father in an attempt to persuade the Paris Saint-Germain forward to join Liverpool. However, Manchester United seem to be the primary suitors for Sancho.
In response to the speculation, Klopp stated, "I am completely happy with the boys that I have, but I never thought about the others." He emphasized his focus on the current squad, saying, "When I am at a club then I work with the players I have, I don’t dream about other players."
When asked about the possibility of signing one of the top young stars in the future, Klopp remained non-committal, saying, "If we can get one of them in the future, we will see, but we will make the best of the situation we have."
