On May 4th, 2020, Tecra Muigai's postmortem examination was scheduled to take place, but it was postponed due to ongoing investigations into her death.
The 20-year-old daughter of Keroche Breweries CEO Tabitha Karanja met her untimely demise on May 2nd, 2020, after being admitted to the ICU three days prior.
According to a press statement issued by her family, Tecra succumbed to injuries sustained in a tragic accident.
However, detectives from the Homicide Unit at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have been working tirelessly to unravel the circumstances surrounding her death.
Speaking to the press, Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor stated that the postmortem has been postponed to a later date, allowing detectives to gather more information.
Dr. Oduor emphasized that the date for the postmortem has not been fixed, and the team plans to interview several individuals in connection to Tecra's death.
One of the key suspects in the murder is Tecra's alleged boyfriend, Omar Lali, who has been arrested and questioned in relation to the incident.
However, following interrogations, detectives felt that his statements did not add up, and they sought to clarify further on the facts.
Meanwhile, Omar has been detained for 21 days to allow police to complete their investigations into Tecra's death.
