On April 20, 2020, a violent incident shook a home in Kiambiu, Nairobi, leaving one brother fighting for his life.
Wilson Temba, accused of attempting to kill his brother Edward Indimuli, has pleaded guilty to the charges.
According to court records, Indimuli was asleep when he heard a commotion in his brother's house and went out to investigate. He met Temba brandishing a kitchen knife, vowing to kill him and their elder brother.
Temba proceeded to stab the victim before being disarmed by his elder brother, who sought help and managed to take him to Kiambiu Police Post at 4am.
Indimuli was rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.
During a court appearance on Monday, Temba explained that his brothers had ganged up against him after he returned from a hospital where he had been admitted for several months.
Senior Resident Magistrate Jackie Kibosia declined to continue with the matter until a psychiatrist's report on Temba is availed, citing the need to determine his mental status before proceeding with sentencing.
