Kenyan singer Akothee has sparked a debate on social media after she asked her fans to buy her a bicycle during the ongoing quarantine period.

According to her, the bicycle would be a necessary item during this time, and she dared her fans to gift her one.

However, her request was met with mixed reactions, with most men claiming they were broke and couldn't afford to buy her the gift.

Some of the men who commented on her post included George Kwedho, who said the bicycle would cost around KES 45,000, and Ngesa Ogola Joseph, who offered to sell himself to buy her the bike.

Others, like Benniz Maish and Mutembei Kathiari Snr, expressed their inability to buy her the gift due to financial constraints.

On the other hand, some men like Kait Nik and Alex Adalla Jaber offered to gift her the bicycle, but raised concerns about how she would receive it.

Charles Michael also clarified that Akothee was asking for a mounting bike, not a road bike, and that she needed to know what she wanted to use the bicycle for.
